James Sedgwick’s Whiskey Distillery
The James Sedgwick’s Distillery is the only commercial whisky distillery in Africa, and is home to the internationally award-winning range of Three Ships and Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky. Only open on selected dates and times, tastings are limited to 10 people p/tour to ensure a personal experience. Tours are offered on Fridays and Saturdays at 10AM and again at 2PM. From the laid-back, family-style tasting locals of Imbuko Wines, to the lush, lux terraces of Val du Charron Estate, the rich history of the Bosman Family Vineyards and the wide open scenic views of Welbedacht Estate – there is truly something for everyone. Some of these wineries require pre-booking for wine tastings, and the majority offers restaurants where a light meal is served to complement the delicate bouquets of the cape wines.
